Alatas Winery

Our mission is to produce high quality wines and at the same time to demonstrate the wines of Thessaly and to present their pure character.

Alatas Winery was established in 2012. The first vineyards was planted as an experiment by Dimitrios Alatas in 2004 and until today there are 9,5 ha of vineyards in the property of the Winery, with further plantations already scheduled in the near future.

The Vineyard

Based in the areas «Ammoudes» and «Paliambela» in Falani, a village next to the city of Larisa, the Winery cultivates a great number of wine varieties such as Malagousia, Assyrtiko, Malvasia, Chardonnay Vermentino, Vionier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Syrah and in an experimental level the Italian variety Sangrantino.

The cultivation and the winemaking process

The cultivation of the vineyards and the winemaking process are based on the contemporary methods of production and on an integrated management system, with only goal, the highest quality, both on grapes and wines. Our mission is to produce high quality wines and at the same time to demonstrate the wines of Thessaly and to present their pure character.
